U.S. Census Bureau Gazetteer Files
Supplies official entity identification across 105,809 national geographic units, including State FIPS, County GEOID, Place GEOID, County Subdivision GEOID, and ZCTA identifiers. Contains land area (ALAND), water area (AWATER), and internal geographic point latitude and longitude coordinates.
TIGER/Line Cartographic Boundaries
Published polygons retain their Census source release year, which can differ from the Gazetteer geography vintage. The current inventory includes states, counties, places, and ZIP Code Tabulation Areas (ZCTAs). County subdivision boundaries are not included. Older polygons are not described as current-year boundaries.
American Community Survey (ACS) 5-Year Detailed Tables
Ingested directly from official Census Bureau summary files without requiring rate-limited API keys. Directory profiles use 12 demographic, housing, and economy tables nationwide, including the core tables listed below:

Population Estimates Program (PEP)
Supplies postcensal annual population estimates time series (2020–2025 estimates base and annual totals; 305,844 records nationwide) for states, counties, and incorporated cities and subcounty governmental units.
USGS Geographic Names Information System (GNIS)
Maintains the official federal geographic names repository, identifying populated places, historic variants, natural landmarks, and unincorporated settlements lacking independent municipal status. Sourced from the official USGS Domestic Names S3 archive. Published nationwide with 968,954 geographic features.
Civic Facilities & Institutions (CMS, IMLS, IPEDS, FAA)
- CMS Hospital General Information (Vintage 2026): Official directory records for 5,419 Medicare-certified hospitals nationwide, including physical addresses, hospital categories, and primary phone numbers.
- IMLS Public Libraries Survey (FY 2024): Comprehensive outlet directory covering 17,615 public library branches and central facilities nationwide, indexed using compound FSCS identifiers.
- NCES IPEDS Postsecondary Institutions (HD2024): Comprehensive higher education directory covering 6,069 postsecondary colleges and universities nationwide.
- Airports & Aviation Facilities: Airport data is provided by airport-data.com.
NOAA Climate Normals & Weather
Delivers official 30-year baseline temperature and precipitation normals published by NOAA / NCEI. Active publication verified nationwide across all 50 states and territories (15,616 stations, 600,024 monthly normals). Point weather forecasts cache National Weather Service (NWS) feeds without real-time upstream network requests during page render.
Annual Temperature History uses locally imported NOAA Global Summary of the Year station records from 2010 through the latest completed year. NOAA computes annual mean, high, and low temperatures from equally weighted monthly averages; these are not yearly extremes. Incomplete years remain gaps, and the current partial year is excluded. Station records are not bias-adjusted city-wide measurements. Climate pages read local records without calling NOAA during page loading.
